AVOIDED A FRAUDULENT LAWSUIT
Thank God I installed my CCTV system when I did! The very next day, a customer walked in and pretended to slip on the floor. We could barely see if she was alright before she started spouting off that she wanted to file a police report and sue for damages...after reviewing the video, we could easily see her look at the “Wet Floor” sign, then do an impossible barrel roll. The officers were laughing when they saw it… I guess these people had successfully sued several local businesses already, now they will be brought up on charges themselves!

DODGED THE BULLET
Luckily we had our camera system in-place when we did. As it turned out, we found out that one of our employees was falsifying payroll documents. The theft of time was definite cause for dismissal. After the firing, the employee, who also happened to be a good friend of mine, filed for Unemployment benefits...and we were able to beat the charges, including 3 appeals, because we still had proof of the incident saved. The officers noted it was some of the best surveillance video that they had worked with yet!
EMPLOYEE THEFT ALMOST PUT US UNDER...
Our Sub Sandwich franchise was doing very poorly. We suspected that some of our product was walking out the door, but didn’t have any proof. After installing our Surveillance Cameras, we were able to prove beyond any doubt, that not only was our product walking out the doors, but so was much of our cash! After making a few changes (firing a few employees), we have been able to turn the franchise around! We saved more in the first 2 weeks, than it cost to install the system. TRUTH IS, I DIDN’T THINK I NEEDED A SYSTEM
Boy was I wrong. I installed the system just so that I could keep an eye on my store when I wasn’t there. That way I could make sure that things were opened in the morning and locked up at night. Turns out, I needed a system more than I thought. So far, I have had 2 of our employees arrested for stealing credit card information and cash from our registers. One of them has already been sentenced to 10 years for Fraud and Larceny. You really think you know people...but that usually isn’t the case.
The Bad Neighbor
I originally purchased a CCTV system from Surveillance Solutions when one of our neighbors was continuously knocking over our garbage cans and stealing our mail. Once we had installed the cameras, these occurances ceased. However, only one of our neighbors made comments and even tried to have us arrested for having the cameras in place. However, once the officers arrived, they not only told us that it was legal to have a system in place, but it was also a system with extremely good picture quality. One of the officers even said that he would be purchasing a system for his home. Unfortunately, our problem neighbor didn't stop there. Next she filed a police report that I was recklessly driving on our street one night. Luckily the camera system was in place and recording as always, and we were able to provide proof-positive footage that my car had remained in the driveway for the entire evening. This system has saved my butt more than once now.
